Hard water areas can be found throughout the UK. Although rarely a problem with regards to drinking water it can cause considerable harm to hot water systems in both domestic and commercial environments.
Envirocure provide services which include chemical removal of scale and mineral build-up within calorifiers, water heaters and associated equipment. Where scale is left to accumulate and remain unchecked it is proven to reduce fuel efficiency (a 1mm layer of limescale on the heat exchanger can reduce efficiency by 7.5%). This is not only a known Legionella food source, but can lead to a reduction in lifetime expectancy of the plant.
